Interview Questions Flowchart
As part of our protocol our team introduced themselves as students studying at the UoP working on a research project. This brief introduction allowed people to quickly determine whether or not they would like to participate in the project. Interviewers then followed the question order making sure not to lead the subjects' responses. Subjects were also asked to illustrate their conceptions about the causes of high tides using a marker and a large sketch pad. Subjects were encouraged to generate answers even if they were not sure of the correct answers in an attempt to stimulate their preexisting schema on the causes of high tides. At the end, all participants were asked, “Where did you learn about tides?”
